The OEM plastic inlet is a known restriction on the M274 - swapping it for this larger-diameter alloy unit reduces pre-turbo pressure losses and allows the compressor wheel to spool harder and more consistently. A common first-stage upgrade on tuned C300 builds.
Important - USA version note: USA-market C300 W205 cars require an ECU reflash after fitting this part to clear the emission code. UK / EU market hardware uses a slightly different pipe routing - this kit is specifically for the USA variant.
