The Charging IC Set For iPhone 15 and 16 Series contains both chips needed to repair charging and touch failures on iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. The set is a U2 charging IC marked SN2012027 plus a pre-programmed 8N Q4EE EEPROM chip - the two ICs that work together on the iPhone 15 / 16 charge circuit.

On the iPhone 15 / 16 motherboards, the U2 charging chip is paired with an 8N EEPROM that stores the calibration data the U2 needs to operate. If the U2 fails, the phone stops charging and the touchscreen often becomes unresponsive too. If the EEPROM data is intact, you can replace the U2 alone and the phone wakes up; if the EEPROM data has been lost (common after board damage or a botched repair), you must replace both chips together with a pre-programmed EEPROM.

This set covers both scenarios - fit the U2 SN2012027 on its own first; if the phone is still dead, replace the 8N EEPROM with the data-programmed unit included in the set.

Repair process (professional): open the phone, remove the motherboard, mount on a PCB holder under a stereo microscope, use a hot air gun and tweezers to lift the failed U2 and EEPROM ICs, fit the new chips in the same positions, then reassemble and test charging and touch.
